In-depth Overview
Settlements
The settlements throughout the game are used as a place to rest and re-equip yourself with supplies and the latest technology that will help you fight against not only the undead but also the living. the unique settlements will be scattered throughout the map, some in strategic locations and others in resource-heavy environments, as sometimes being safe is better than providing the locals with fresh fish.
Laws
Set the laws of settlements that follow the King and his Government, These laws can be used to manipulate settlement characteristics, such as production and happiness. Punish lawbreakers with different levels of harshness, why chop the thief’s hands off when he can do a perfectly dangerous job? Set the social laws to whatever you desire.
Hostile Settlements
Scattered around London, there are not only friendly settlements but neutral and hostile settlements too. Neutral settlements can be convinced to join your side through various different methods, such as exterminating the area’s undead, ridding the area of bandits, or providing them with resources. Hostile settlements are controlled by those that oppose you and his majesty the King. As you are a soldier in the army, it is your duty to remove any potential hostiles and return the land to its rightful owners.
Neutral Settlements
Most of the settlements throughout the game will start as off as neutral, focusing on their own survival rather than politics. These settlements can become friendly or hostile depending on how you interact with them.
Resources
There are many different resources in the game that are used quite differently, building settlement resources for building and repairing, survival for keeping everyone alive not just the player and trade goods for increasing the value of a settlement and their happiness, they also are worth quite a bit.
Settlement Resources
Building Resources
The resources are used for repairing/building buildings and defences of the settlement and creating new items. They can be used in trade, as other settlements may require resources another settlement possesses.

Survival Resources
Survival Resources are used to well, Survive! Food to fill the people’s hungry stomachs, water to keep them hydrated and medicine to keep them healthy. All are required for survival. Trade Goods
These resources are not necessary, however, they will have different effects if there are enough within a settlement. Supply goods would help with the survival of the settlement allowing for a quick boost to resources available at the settlement, tools would improve work speed and allow for a higher level of construction that would be impossible without them, and luxury goods are used to make the people happy, and a happy survivor is a useful survivor. Also, £s are used to pay for items you might need either for yourself or the settlement.

AI Interactions
Needs
The NPCs within the game will require different goods and materials within their settlements so they can survive, grow stronger, and increase their happiness. Daily necessities such as food and water are necessary, however, they will need other resources to do more than just survive. If a settlement has the required materials such as luxury goods this will increase their morale just as much as if there is some entertainment such as a pub, parks and more.
Unique Personalities
NPCs within the game will have different likes/dislikes and these will dictate what they will do for entertainment within the game. Some will enjoy fighting, some drinking, others praying while some like to explore. These will impact the NPCs day to day life. An explorer will scavenge around the local area of their home in search of useful goods, materials, or new potential settlers, whereas a drunkard will use their spare time to go to the local pub to satisfy their needs.
Jobs
The NPCs within the settlements will fill the roles of any available jobs, as long as there are some available. The NPCs will gather resources, explore, and scavenge the area and guard the area against anyone with ill intentions alive or undead. These resources will be placed in the local settlements’ storage facilities so that they might expand or upgrade their businesses. Farms, fishing docks, mines, factories, barracks, and more.
Factions
Major
Major factions are groups that have a large number of followers, are powerful and are ready to fight for their ideals, they have taken to the streets of London to fight not only against the undead but the returning British Army and the other factions with competing ideologies.
Communist League
During the years prior to the great war, communism was on the rise as workers wanted to be treated fairly and through manipulations from The Third International formed a united front. This helped spread the political ideology through the working classes, creating a large and dangerous faction within the UK, The party is well-structured and has strong leadership to help guide those that support the communist ideals.
Nostra Nova Vita (Our New Life/NNV/Fascist Party)
As communism rose, so did fascism, with the threat of the communists, the undead and the weakness of the crown the need to unite the people under a single leader, one strong enough to lead the people through this time of peril. An assortment of far-right ex-military and others who believe in their ideals. Their wish for power strong enough to defend Britain could be closer than people might realise.
British Army
The British Army with orders from the crown was sent to reclaim London from not just the undead but all the despots that lay claim to the once-great city. Through connections with the local settlements and potential appeasement of some of the smaller factions, the Army wishes to either earn back the people’s trust or force compliance.
Minor
Although not as powerful as major factions, each minor faction can still cause devastation to your settlements if angered, appeasing these smaller factions will bring benefits to the settlements in the area. The benefits of a friendly minor faction nearby can be either extra security or positive modifiers for the settlements. Some will only support specific major factions. The Royal Guards, for example, are loyal to the crown and will only support the British Army. Bandits, on the other hand, are loyal to none.
Bandits
There are many who have given up on the structure of society and believe they may do whatever they wish. They will be a pain to deal with as you may find them in many places that would disrupt others’ lives. Raiding settlements, and killing innocents; there is nothing they will not do to cause misery to others.
Royal Guards
Not all the Royal Guards were given the order to follow the King and his family to the north. Some were told to bunker down and hold onto key locations, such as Westminster, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. They only ally themselves with the King, and anyone that opposes the crown is their sworn enemy.
The Forsaken
The Church has changed since the undead appeared. Many of those left behind have taken to revering the undead as a punishment from God, sent to clear all the non-believers and sinners. Not all believe this to be true, but many of the clergy plot to spread the undead furthering God’s punishment.
Dockside Reapers
A group of dock workers have taken advantage of the plague and have seized control of the dockyards. Their access to the dock and its ships allows them to transport supplies along the Thames risk-free. This has caused a surge of many new followers allowing them to make a grab for power.
The Silver Barons
A community of high society gentlemen that managed to survive through the strength of their servants. High on power, their strength continued to grow as their loyal servants indoctrinated many locals that survived. They continue to exert their strength to grow their territory and their influence. Due to their ideals, they have a strong connection with the NNV.
Weapons
The world of Undead Front will be filled with many different great war weapons, those that were seen in combat, as well as those that never got the chance such as experimental weapons and those created for the world of Undead Front
Vehicles
We plan to implement a number of different vehicles for use within the game including, bikes, cars, trucks, land ships and more.
The World
The landscape of the game is set within WW1 era London, with the Undead managing to make it onto the British Isles, the King and his government along with the majority of the surviving armed forces made their way up north, to the old Roman defence of Hadrian’s wall, refitting it to defend from the south instead, the player, tasked with his company to determine how best to retake London as it is the seat of the British Empire.
